   idk why people hate on MacBooks so much tbh, its absolutely solid programming and media watching machine, with insane battery life to go with. I watched a 2h30m movie on 5GHz WiFi and only 12% was used.

     Sure as a linux power user, I had to install a lot of shit, like a firewall and whatnot.
     But for the average normoid I'd say this is more than fair pricing for the experience you get.
     I like to think I'm paying for the software not the hardware

     Apple devices are far too expensive for what they do and are not at all repair-able, which is unfortunate because my first home apple device is actually really nice for what it is (mac mini m2)

     @munir people hate on apple devices until they give them a honest try and either get mind broken and go all in with apple stuff or develop more level headed arguments as to why they don't like apple stuff.

     @munir @neo I'm not quite a power user, I'd say I'm an intermediate-level linux user, and I still want a macbook because of multiple reasons (pretty ui, better support for many things, power efficiency, great screen+speakers)

     @psnacks@netzsphaere.xyz @munir@fedi.munir.tokyo yea, watching things and programming u can easily do on a thinkpad, u don't need a macbook. the battery life is good that it only used 12% but u can plug laptop in somewhere, its not much of an issue
