   Separate HDMI and usb output switchers can be made to work, but they love selecting the wrong output all the time despite having only one job.

     Do good docking stations with KVM switch exist? I use at least 3 different computers for different purposes on a regular (daily) basis, and I'd like to at least be able to switch smoothly at least my work laptop and my home desktop.

     Everywhere I look, I see complaints about KVM switches having issues especially with hot-plugging. I usually trust Anker but even they have negative reviews about this exact issue. Is there some fundamental problem that makes all KVM switches bad?
