      You can get a 10G fiber connection to residential in my area for $300/month.

      I wish MegaPort sold to consumers. I pay over 100 euro for two dedicated servers right now, but I have 1G up/down at home. I front my torrents with a $5 incognet.io VM. I'm wondering if I can setup a DMZ in my homelab, create a wireguard tunnel and offload some of my non-essential services and kill one of those dedicated servers.

      @eric

      323 EUR about $350 per month

      If I used a regualr 4 core with the same attached it would be 145 EUR about 157 USD.

      But for that price I'd rather spend $300 per month for rack space in a datacenter and just deploy my own equipment.

      @tadano @djsumdog @splitshockvirus @eric smh hipster web server
      but it can't be that hard right, all the web server is doing is serving files for one subdomain and being a reverse proxy to pleroma on another

      @tadano @djsumdog @splitshockvirus @eric i just use split dns for that, i already had internal DNS infrastructure
      nginx serves the media directly and is a reverse proxy to pleroma over VPN

      @skylar @eric @splitshockvirus @djsumdog shockingly simple! What sort of nginx/pleroma conf are you using to route client connections to the CDN servers for media retrieval? Furthermore, is there a method of automatically routing to different servers depending on the client IP's location?

      @tadano @djsumdog @splitshockvirus @eric alright chat, there's this thing called inotifywait that watches a directory for new files, like /opt/pleroma/uploads, and then does a thing if it detects one
      the thing can be rsync to send it to a remote server for nginx over there to hand out to clients

      A lot of reverse proxies have built-in LetsEncrypt support now. I use Traefik and it can even handle DNS authorization for most domain registrars.

      @eric I don't like the layout. But Canonical was actually cooking with the color scheme. Orange and purple(ish something) are really soothing colors.
