     @soapone I've seem some things that talk about caner issues with large amounts of pork - the question is ominvorous or simply eating too much cured pork, as sodium nitrite is known to have links to cancer.

     The only kind of situation where I can imagine this being valid and worth the trouble would be a way post apocalypse US where you were lost in the wilderness and shooting whatever you could find.

     I own rabbits, I would personally never use them for protein. They have some very acute and serious issues attached to them for health reasons. I also own chickens and much prefer them for protein, YMMV.
