   what other alternatives do we have for writing websites that allow you to be as efficient as when writing react?

     but using a library that you *know* is godly inefficient only because "it's more efficient to write the code with it". search for another library, or write code without it

     @navi@social.vlhl.dev @steffo@junimo.party those people will write inefficient code in any other language. you don't magically get efficient programming paradigms by moving to a different language. see my earlier rant about how almost every C# program is slow and inefficient because they do redundant or unnecessary string and heap allocations.

     and even then, is efficiency in "writing the code" more important than "running the code"? is writing a webapp more efficiently worth shipping an application that eats almost a gig of memory and a ton of cpu at idle?
     
     imo it's not, try other frameworks, or even, use none...

     and there's a need, it's just not one the developers seem to care (performance)

     @ada @steffo yes, but that is a reason other than wanting to write it bc "what [...] alternatives [...] allow you to be as efficient as when writing react?"
     
     this is the kind of reasoning i disagree with. if you're forced to use react because of some stupid corpo ladder, that's a different story

     @navi@social.vlhl.dev @steffo@junimo.party there's like a thousand alternatives, it's javascript. land of reinventing the wheel too much because your silly little framework might end up getting you a job at FAANG.
     
     Svelte, Astro, Elm, etc.
     
     It's not that there aren't alternatives, it's that there's no need or desire to use alternatives.

     like in my other reply, people will actually lose their job if they don't make react their life. it's a big problem.
     
     so much so that google fucking killed angular over it.
