   A physical device that will simulate a block device (external USB drive, etc) but is actually configured to do iSCSI to something.

     @i I would seriously pay for a device to do this. I bet you could piggyback on OpenWRT firmware and just add some new config panel into LACI, the lua web config interface.

     @i also thank you for mentioning "OTG USB gadgets" as I didn't know that specific terminology.
     
     Looks like this can be done with FreeBSD too, so now I just need a board that can do it.
     
     I'd really prefer FreeBSD anyway -- the iSCSI stack is so nice to use.
