@BowsacNoodle @notabnormal The worst is what's been running through Lutheran circles for decades now:
>"Well it's all about the gospel of grace, you know. That means we get to ignore those parts of the Bible that tell us no."
>"Those icky parts were just products of their time."

@Crux_Invictus @notabnormal Liberal theology and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. Rome has Liberation Theology infecting it right now as well. Fortunately the younger seminarians and priests are largely hyper traditionalists on the Catholic and Orthodox side. Is there a similar reactionary vibe in Lutheran clergy?

@Crux_Invictus @BowsacNoodle @notabnormal With how much Luther is turning in his grave, it could power several American cities for centuries

@qwerty @Crux_Invictus @notabnormal I think we need that more right now

@BowsacNoodle @notabnormal From what I've heard that seems to be the case but it's hard to be sure. The Seminary for a long time had a reputation for turning out conservative clergy, but there's been a lot of damage done between then and now.

@Crux_Invictus @notabnormal Well it won't be an easy road no matter what. The struggle is the point after all :wojak_psycho: , lest we become prideful and stop recognizing that the battle is The Lord's.

@BowsacNoodle @notabnormal The Lutheran Church of Australia also just recently voted in favour of ordaining women, so the damage is immense and I think people are looking to the lifeboats.

@BowsacNoodle @Crux_Invictus @notabnormal THERE WAS SOME GUY ADVOCATING FOR THE IN HIS WORDS "RECONQUISTA" WHERE YOUNG WHITE MEN CLIMB THE RANKS IN MAINLINES AND CLEAVE TO ORTHODOXY AS UNDERSTOOD IN THEIR DENOMINATION
BUT HIS STATED MOTIVATION WAS BASICALLY "THE OLD BUILDINGS ARE BEAUTIFUL"
LIKE
WITH THE BRANCH THEORY THERE'S REALLY NO HARD AND FAST MOTIVATION TO SAVE THE OLD COMMUNION VS JUST LEAVE AND START NEW
JUST LEAVING AND STARTING NEW MEANS "HEY GUYS IM STARTING A BASED AND TRAD DENOMINATION FOR US" AND EVERYONE BASED AND TRAD LOOKS AT THAT AND SEES THE WORD "CULT" IN TWELVE FOOT TALL RED GLOWING LETTERS

@Crux_Invictus @BowsacNoodle @notabnormal It is the same with the Lutheran Church in Denmark but at least priests here can and has refused to wed homosexuals without much pushback (outside of the capital)

@Crux_Invictus @notabnormal Pope Francis has stacked the deck against Europeans trying a RETVRN TØ TRÆDITIØN for the next Pope.
>of the 99 cardinals appointed by Francis who would be eligible to participate as electors in a papal conclave, only 37 (38%) are European. Some 52% of the electors were Europeans at the 2013 conclave that elected Francis, but only 39% are Europeans as of 30 September 2023
He even put one for "indigenous peoples" in South America.

@Crux_Invictus @notabnormal Based Black man Cardinal Sarah was apparently friends with Benedict and didn't like any of the liberation theology stuff, but he's been pushed aside. He didn't want to be involved in church politics but he did a good job helping the Africans purge some degeneracy. We need more men like that in clergy office.

And I still see a lot of Catholics vehemently defend their Pope.
I just can't comprehend that level of loyalty to someone this disfunctional.

@Deplorable_Degenerate @notabnormal @Crux_Invictus Every Catholic I know who regularly attends church and is a faithful practicing dislikes Francis. How openly they'll criticize him depends upon the person. Most will defend his office in the way a 20th century traditionalist would defend "The President" out of respect for the office, even if they dislike the guy. Trying to be objective about it is nearly impossible, but my take is that we like to avoid talking poorly about the office because of the Pandora's box that opens up.

@Crux_Invictus @BowsacNoodle @notabnormal If we're going to update scripture for the modern era can we tie pedophiles to car batteries instead of millstones before tossing them in the ocean?

@TakodachiEnjoyer @Crux_Invictus @notabnormal I like this because it still allows car batteries and pedophiles to go to their rightful place (the bottom of the sea).
