   These two people are the only ones who have run for these positions in the 20+ years I’ve lived here except for one guy who ran with the platform to get rid of the positions because they don’t actually do anything.

   That’s all I know but it makes me mad

     I got my answer and it made me mad:

     their roles are entirely legacy relics of our charter. their duties are handled by staff and they just sign off. they in exchange get free healthcare from the city on the tax payer dime. we have requirements for being qualified in their fields to run against them

     @Bronwyn Most elected positions in local government are that. For instance, the D.A. doesn't really prosecute people. They supervise people who prosecute.

     @kingrat these guys have full time jobs though, that aren’t this.

     And no one has run against them in 20 years.

     It just seems suspect
