the regime has decided that green is a suicide option for themselves, especially when compared with the recent turnaround on nuclear.

@sickburnbro >despite record 2023 temperatures
I keep asking where the frick these highs were at because they weren't anywhere I go to in the Continental United States and I get around a bit.

@EvilSandmich their definition of "record temperatures" is extremely weak, now they're using 'number of places with recorded record high' iirc - which of course with UHI and more places to record from makes an inaccurate mesaure .. but that's not what they were looking for.

@Paleface @sickburnbro Unrelated, but it reminds me of that kraut physicist on jewTube defending global warming "science" when she quickly said "yes there are problems with the models". Talk about burying the lede, busted models is all climate science *is*.

They're in the model, and the model doesn't lie.
Duh.

@EvilSandmich @Paleface problems is the only thing the models *are* there hasn't been one yet that is accurate. Even the ICC "conservative" model is wrong.
The problem is that they hooked into CO2 as equal to warming for political reasons, and rising CO2 doesn't mean runaway heating like they claimed.

@EvilSandmich @Paleface The trees that have a second metabolic path that is operational at higher CO2 and Temp levels shows there is more going on.

@sickburnbro @Paleface You got me wondering if maybe someone has a super reliable climate model, but because it has no political significance it just sits, forgotten, on some university server.

@EvilSandmich @Paleface that is well within the realm of possibility.

If by busted you mean blatantly faked as we've known for absolutely sure since 2009's CRU leaks, then yeah.
