Bread up, Bro (sickburnbro@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 09:50:17 JST Bread up, Bro @Some_German_Guy @WilhelmIII well, it seems like Vance thinks it is worthwhile and if Barron does too, it's pretty much a lock. Given that he did the "Space Force" thing, he at least sees some use in it as well.
Remember, once you get out of the gravity well, things are a lot easier. If you are looking to just haul stuff into space, the heavy works as well. -

After yesterday, I'm not going to doubt it. Provided the government gets the fuck out of the way.

Some German Guy (some_german_guy@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 09:50:18 JST Some German Guy @WilhelmIII @sickburnbro if i remember the numbers right, they need 4 launches to get one full tank of gas into orbit.
with the faa having been fucking with musk for the last few years to give nasa enough time to catch up, i doubt he can make the next transfer window.
he can only do 2 more launches with the current license, fuck knows how long it will take until they grant him a new one.
unless things change, this will continue to be a painfully slow process.
with luck the orange shabos goy will do something good for once.Bread up, Bro likes this. -

fucking madman really might make it to mars by the 30's. -

Trump has a history of being loyal,(Even when he shouldn't) so that's not a bad play.

WilhelmIII (wilhelmiii@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 10:02:16 JST WilhelmIII January 6th was a shitshow, no doubt about it.
With the media and those people close to him that he trusted (and shouldn't have) telling him they were extremist rioters he did nothing for them and then two weeks later he was gone.
Not the call I would have made, but then I wouldn't let a son-in-law like Kuchner inside the DC city limits.
But I was referring to his well-know tendency in the business world to return loyalty to loyalty.
A trait that worked well for him in his private life and in business, and was a disaster in government.
Hopefully he's learned his lesson.

WilhelmIII (wilhelmiii@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 10:05:02 JST WilhelmIII As VP, Vance will be the head of the Space Council.
Some of the policy wonks are already making noises about gutting some of the major government agencies that just seem to exist to gum things up. NOAA has been mentioned, as has the FCC. Wouldn't be surprised to see the launch licence thing taken away from the FAA and given to NASA, who at least has been involved in spaceflight before.
I'm somewhat skeptical about Trump being actually able to do some of the things I'm hearing, since all of Washington and the media and about 2/3 of business will be against him.
But there is nothing else out there that seems any better.

Bread up, Bro (sickburnbro@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:08:42 JST Bread up, Bro @Amalek_Respector @WilhelmIII @Some_German_Guy @Bunsen The city being a source of economic activity is mostly an accounting fiction in 2024 America. When cities were shipping powerhouses with factories on shorelines to get to boats fast, sure.
But what we've seen post covid is that most of them are now office jobs of questionable real value and headquarters to things like pharma companies, while their R&D labs and production facilities are elsewhere ( where the land isn't so expensive ) -

Amalek_Respector (amalek_respector@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:08:43 JST Amalek_Respector @WilhelmIII @Some_German_Guy @Bunsen @sickburnbro The issue is the city is the source of most economic activity, your bank accounts don't work without cities. Also most of your grains, crops and livestock feed also come from the cities. The powerlines and electric grid also run along the cities, and the nuclear strikes come with warning so expect all those niggers and imports to be bused into your precious little village/town in the outskirts first thing they expect a nuclear weapons deployment. The govt may even kick you out of your house and displace you with the niggers and brown hordes. Just like they did to the Palestinians. Warfare means more ethnic displacement and more migration in the long run as well, because we live in a globalized world. Most niggers and spics won't mind living in war torn US with plentiful farm land as opposed to moving back to Africa or whatever shithole they crawled out of.
This is why i'm not exactly super excited about hot wars with Iran on behalf of kikes. It pretty much undoes all the efforts whites have been making to establish exclusive communities in the outskirts for several years. Everything is set back to zero for us, and I think the system can survive a nuclear conflict as well, so its really a lose lose for us no matter who wins. -

and stabilize the world economy enough for the prices to come down to sane levels.

WilhelmIII (wilhelmiii@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:08:44 JST WilhelmIII I often think that World War 3 would be less destructive than a long, slow slide into global collapse.
We would lose our cities, which are full of the other side guys, niggers and imports.
Boo, fucking hoo.
Yeah, a lot of /ourguys/ live in the big cities. Here's to hoping they get out of there in time.

WilhelmIII (wilhelmiii@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:08:45 JST WilhelmIII A lot of American businesses are now run by marketing and financial guys rather than people who know about the core business.
Those "businesses" are just eating their seed corn and lobbying Congress to get them some tax writeoffs.
Boeing is a prime example, as are the major auto manufacturers.

Bread up, Bro (sickburnbro@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:13:19 JST Bread up, Bro @Jens_Rasmussen the problem with the horizonal landing is that you have to have a way to orient it that way. You already have your big engine on the end, so that's the easiest way to control decent. Everything you put on the side adds drag and complexity. Putting a rocket on the side for instance to flip it .. well you probably need at least 3, probably 4. Then you have to have piping of fuel, there is that heat issue, etc.
Traditionally you had the shuttle type design which just said "slap wings on and glide it" -- but that requires some big ass wings and a lot of hardware as well.
As crazy as it seems, getting a rocket to hover is something they already can do with their control fins, since that's essentially what they do with the falcon, just get it to hover right above ground, then cut off and the legs hold it upright. -

Jens_Rasmussen (jens_rasmussen@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:13:20 JST Jens_Rasmussen If it works then that's great, but landing it vertically just doesn't seem like the easiest way to do things, compared to figuring out a way to land it horisontally.
But I would assume some people way smarter than me have already thought about that? -

EvilSandmich (evilsandmich@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:29:24 JST EvilSandmich @Jens_Rasmussen @sickburnbro Already lost to time is that they did a practice "catch" on Flight 4 where the arms "grabbed" the booster at the time it was supposed to as the booster landed at an exact spot in the ocean. It was just a matter of repeating the same process but with the booster landing further west 😉
Still, to imagine the pitch meeting where someone proposed putting the landing gear on the ground and catching a 23-story building that's freefalling from outer space. -

Bread up, Bro (sickburnbro@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:33:31 JST Bread up, Bro @EvilSandmich @Jens_Rasmussen @Paleface the nice thing about the fins is it's like control surfaces on airplanes - as you go faster, the control surfaces can be smaller, so you get to use the fact that you have a freefalling rocket from near space to your advantage. -

EvilSandmich (evilsandmich@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Oct-2024 22:33:32 JST EvilSandmich @Jens_Rasmussen @sickburnbro When watching the video they don't light that thing until the last moment. I'll grant though that those grid-fins keep it from being completely uncontrolled, but as @Paleface notes, the size ratio of those fins to the booster would keep me from betting the farm on where that thing would land ("yeah these toy wings will totally do the trick!", and they did).
