   so like when i wear my motorcycle gear everyone knows that it's just because i'm a massive gearfag and it's one of the only socially acceptable ways of wearing a ton of gear in public that isn't something actually gay like those cycling tights right

     @ciel@kokoro.garden it's a good idea but it's also a massive pita so that the only people who do it are the ones committed to the lifestyle and are willing to spend the money involved so they're obviously massive sickos

     @shibao i didnt. i thought it was a good idea to wear protective gear on a bike. are full leather or textile suits a larp unless ur on a track or have a gigantic bike??

     @ciel@kokoro.garden i'd go straight to the motorcycle shoes although it's a bit different since in a scooter i feel like you might have less chance of having the bike fall on your ankles. but your ankles are fragile so they need protection. other joint padding and stuff probably isn't as important as having gear that won't immediately rip and cause you to grind your skin on the road at the same time as not letting you slide so making you tumble, etc etc. not as important as the shoes, gloves and ofc the helmet tho imo

     @shibao all i have rn is a jacket, helmet and gloves. need winter gloves and some safer shoes
