   Okay, I finished it one more time as Chris. His good ending screen is even better, it looks like one of those sample photos they put in picture frames when you buy them new.

     Just finished Resident Evil 1 (GOG PC Version) for the first time (played REmake about... four times earlier this year).
     Fun game. Interesting from an archeological standpoint, but REmake is so much better in every way by an order of magnitude that playing the original in 2024 feels like playing a tech demo by comparison.
     Also, controversial opinion maybe, but I liked addition of the ink ribbon system in REmake; I think the level deign of Resi 1 compliments them well, and they create an interesting layer of risk/reward.
     *EDIT: I didn't realize when I originally wrote this that Jill's initial playthrough always has no ink ribbons on the PC version, but subsequent playthroughs do, my mistake.
     
     I also like how Jill's best ending cutscene looks like a bit-crushed stock photo for a shopping catalog.
