   my impression is that modern people see historic fascism as more coherent than it really was when it was being implemented. I'm not an expert or anything.

     @sun communists tried to be really systemic with their ideology and tried to define fascism in similarly systemic terms, especially as a "decayed form of capitalism" whereas actual fascists seemed to just be an incoherent populist movement
