     I got my son to play through Symphony of The Night last month.
     
     And yes, new and flashy doesn't do it for me. I actually love the old atari games, e.g. defender, asteroids (deluxe), tempest, berzerk, etc. Beamrider also, but that was technically created for the IntelliVision.
     
     Back then, you knew you were going to die. There was no "end." It was all about how high you could score or how far you could get. And it came at you quickly.
