   @shawnhooper My personal feelings about ACF aside, what this says is that no one should be building any sort of business on WordPress. If you piss Matt off he is going to use all of his resources to put you out of business.

   I can't wait to be fully out of the WordPress world and have left all of this garbage behind. This is not the WordPress I fell in love with 20 years ago.

     Automattic is forking the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, which is owned by WP Engine.

     it's a shot in the foot what matt did here. i've spoken to several programmers who have their own plugins (like me) and they won't publish any more in the archive but via their own websites with their own update routine
