Alexandre Oliva (lxo@gnusocial.net)'s status on Friday, 11-Oct-2024 02:32:29 JST Alexandre Oliva the free software movement is fundamentally political as it calls out the injustice of user subjugation through the software we use to do our computing. even the development of FLOSS ends up being detrimental to users when developers fail to take into account that user-subjugating software is harmful. only those who are for the status quo can afford to pretend political neutrality. -

Lorenzo Ancora :verified: (lorenzoancora@ieji.de)'s status on Friday, 11-Oct-2024 02:32:38 JST Lorenzo Ancora :verified: @floralvikings FOSS developers should attempt to remain politically neutral at all times, because free software should be usable and improvable by everyone, including those we don't like or agree with. If someone discriminates against you, contact the authorities; if you feel unwell, contact a phisician; if you want to run for elections, ask a political campaign manager. FOSS developers cannot replace these professionals and community moderation must guarantee fairness and objectivity.
