@sickburnbro They could also not "invest in robotics," and just pay Americans $20/hr for the work - like they did before they could hire foreigners - and we could better afford meat then vs now.
I'm not anti-robotics, but it doesn't create more jobs than it destroys. It only works with a shrinking population - which could have worked if we had stopped ALL immigration BEFORE - or if we deported the Illegal AND "leeegal" immigrants NOW.

@PopulistRight You could say this about any technology - construction equipment for instance. It doesn't create jobs, it gets rid of the job for lots of people digging ditches.
The reason companies are looking to shave labor costs by using illegals is that there is relentless pressure to show growth - the entire market is about always making even more money than last year. And while "Limits to Growth" was wrong in the predictions, there is realistically only a certain amount you can optimize processes.
