@larand @darnell Considering that some big players rely on this domain there will certainly be a lot of pressure to find a solution.

It may have to be handed over to someone else to be controlled: Having a country controlling two country domains could make some countries greedy. (The .su situation was very early internet days, and the rules have changed since then).

@mistakenotmy @larand The United States 🇺🇸 controls many domains, including .us, .com, .net, .org, .moon, and .mars (the latter two are, to my knowledge, managed by NASA).

I believe the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 would probably take control over .io (Mauritius 🇲🇺 could, too).

@mistakenotmy @larand I see. Country domains. You are correct as the US technically owns one country domain which is .us (.com, .net., .org, etcetera, are obviously not country domains).

Then in hindsight, neither is .Su as it is a regional domain, similar to .eu, .Africa, .lat, .Asia, etcetera.

      The rule remains unbroken! 😂🤣😅

@darnell @larand The US is a special case due to the history of the internet.

The UK can't just take control of a country domain, by default it would fall to Mauritius (but them having two country domains is against the rules)
