     The reason porn is segregated isn't because of some induced demand for porn driving everything else away, it's because of platform policy to go all in on porn or on banning porn on their site
     
     Also, ultimate counter example to porn driving other things away: Fetlife is a dedicated sex and bdsm site, and yet there are entire boards dedicated to discussion about completely SFW subjects like games, movies, computers etc

     @Reiddragon @SuperDicq @thendrix also there are exceptions all the time because there are so many variables, but it tends to go this way when the platform is really big and has monetization or popularity metrics and they don't have some filter or ranking that keeps it from taking over.
     
     so like twitch could keep booba hot tub streamers, just make some mechanism that suppresses that content unless you go looking for it.

     When there's an alg to be played, people will do it, and that leads to certain things bubbling to the top (look at youtube and all the far right channels that infest everyone's recommendations)
     
     Fedi and fetlife just leave everything to be organic, and that leads to everything naturally being there if you want it, but separated because, big shocker, most people don't actually like having porn mixed with other stuff

     And also I do think porn should be in a different category from everything else, I do not call that suppression, that's just categorization.
     
     Being afraid of anything sexual to point of making up dresscodes for fictiona characters is heavy suppression tho.

     I am against any sort of software that tries to do more than show me stuff in a chronological order or by any other sorting instructions that I have given it such as "sort by views, sort by favorites, etc."
     
     This is my timeline and I will personally sit through the crap so I can decide on my own which posts I think are relevant to me. Nobody else but me decides that.
     
     The corposhit algorithm will never be designed to serve my own interests, so why would you use it? These things are always designed to serve their interests first instead of yours.
     
     Be it pushing their political agendas, or pushing their products for advertising, I don't care, I don't want it.
     
     The worst about this cancerous system is that basically our entire society is hooked on this shit nowadays.
     
     I don't want to consoom shit fed to me by recommendation_watchnext.seve(), but guess what? Everyone around you uses it so everything your peers share with you did go through "the algorithm".
     
     It's literally infecting me like second hand smoke.

     Because there are two possibilities with this. It is either a blackbox and the owners of said blackbox will abuse that. But if you make it not a blackbox and you start telling people how it works, it will no longer work, because people will start gaming the system.

     Destroying monetization will be better for anyone as video production will go back to people who actually care about it and don't do it just for money.
     
     Having a donation platform or merch sales should be enough support for most people. If you really want to you can add commercials to your videos from sponsors that you find yourself. Platforms themselves don't need monetization.
     
     Speaking of Asmongold, does that guy really deserve to make thousands (milllions?) of dollars sitting in front of his computer chuckling at videos and playing world of warcraft? The world would be much better off if people like this have to put some actual effort into the stuff they produce or even more if they get a real job that contributes something to society.
