   Given all the chatter about NoteBookLM and it's audio generation capabilities, I thought I'd give it a try. But what to test it on?

   I know! I have loads of blog posts about testicular cancer from about 2003. Why not let it read those and then make a podcast?

     @WarnerCrocker It's good. Once we can choose the voices, and tweak the parameters (for example, don't mention Ian so much), it'll be useful, especially for those of us with strong regional accents.

     @ianRobinson Having not read the blog posts I thought most of the info as summarized was good. I did find the tone somewhat condescending though, which at times seemed dismissive. You’re correct though, users would need to have the ability to tweak things. I’m actually working up a post about this (not your experiment, the concept in general) that I hope to have ready this weekend.

     The content was a pretty good summary of the first page of blog results. It didn’t seem to read the other pages. At some point, I'll give it all the posts separately and get it to generate a new podcast using the ten years’ worth of posts.

     Also it seems to like to pad out the last third or so with waffling. Mine has that too.

     @ianRobinson I’ll have to relisten or generate a transcript to be specific about hallucinations. Funny that Federghi’s name is prounced two different ways.
     I agree about the padding out. in both your and my cases it feels that there’s a decent attempt at summarization but forced into a presentation frame that generates tone, structure, etc… Not saying that’s a bad thing, but that’s what it feels like to me, no real empathy for the content.
