   yo fedi-admins, check your registrations, seems like there is another spammer on the lose on fedi, which creates a bunch of accounts and randomly mentions people. its the same pattern as a couple of years back with that discord bot thing (i don't recall the details)
   
   i recommend setting your registrations to approval only, if you can live with that

     as for not getting those posts, akkoma/pleroma sure have the best tools to fight that with MRF. i really wish that all the other software would have something similar tbh

     @jexams@akkoma.jexams.me RejectNewlyCreatedAccountPolicy is the one you are looking for. the spammer is creating a bunch of accounts and spams those messages, so this MRF kinda prevents most of that. also HellthreadPolicy can be of use since the spam message contains a punch of mentions

     for misskey instance, there is this patch by @privateger@plasmatrap.com
     
     you might have to rewrite it tho since the change in InboxProcessorService might not match up your code base (i at least had to).
