To give a non-schizo take on this, maybe they use that because it's a big fat turbo prop plane with very high torque engines and it can be used to deploy sensor gizmos directly inside a storm without getting crushed like a tin can. -

They do this all the time, as it's the only reliable way to get wind speed measurements of a hurricane out at sea. It's an "old" prop plane because those are more reliable than jets inside the intense conditions.
Schizos need to temper their retard theories by looking at comparative energy levels of things.
