>wittgenstein's lion
This is my first time hearing of this but yeah I agree. Also that's how I feel trying to convey these concepts. I'm saying them in simple ways yet nobody understands what I'm saying. I'm starting to think maybe this level of understanding isn't for everyone. It also lets me know I'm on the right path. It is kind of lonely and that means I don't have anyone here I can turn to for guidance on any of this but at the same time I think that's the way it's supposed to be.

@j @ageha the truth is boring so I explore metaphysical explanations. You may be interested to know that regardless of culture, schizophrenics often attribute voices to a monotheistic god. Like, even if the culture they come from is polytheistic or atheist. It is again because there are probably consistent fail-states in the brain when something goes wrong.

>the truth is boring
Sounds like you don't know the truth because the truth is stranger than fiction

@j @ageha there is nothing more boring than "we are alone"

@j @ageha after exploring every weird thing and trying to steel-man its truth, I concluded there is only one mystery and that is self-awareness.

@sun @ageha lmao you think that's the truth? Lmao you're so far off it's impressive. I once thought that was the truth but it's not even close.

@lucy @j @ageha yeah I am not arguing for a soul or anything like that but just why is there an internal experiential sensation of self.
anesthetics are fascinating, where do you go when gas puts you under, and then you come right back after a while intact.

@sun @j @ageha losing self-awareness and/or consciousness is eye opening in this regard ime

@j @ageha it's a mystery but it's not interesting because there's no way to explore it, it's just there. you can message me any time about this stuff and I'll listen with an open mind and won't critique it back to you.

@sun @ageha there's a lot of stuff I want to say but can't. What I will say is that self-awareness isn't all that interesting. However, if you keep pulling on that thread it will unravel a lot but only if you're willing to admit that almost everything you know and have built your life on is a lie.
This isn't for the faint of heart.

@sun @j @ageha it's wild because i couldn't imagine it i experienced it a few times. consider the following: you're playing a game of chess in a small room. it's all you've ever seen and you ask "where do i go when i leave this room?" all you know is fixed moves. drugs are like breaking the rules to get a glimpse and if you get caught the game is over.
in other words why are you so scared of where you go? you don't even know where you're coming from. that's what really gives me the chills.

@lucy @j @ageha yes hallucinogens made me think "you are like a gear in a clock, and drugs knock you out of alignment and you are suddenly aware there is more in the mechanism.

@sun @j @ageha more like, we are all one
it's all true, even the contradictions, that's the first step to take outside of dualistic thinking
