     I identify as a gamer, because I'm really into board games

     and I do it only in part because it tends to annoy video-game "gamers"

     @detondev @drewdevault I don't think it's even consumption, like see how 24+h long visual novels are often labelled casual while at that point it's quite a commitment.

     This is why despite owning literal thousands of games (not a single one on Steam, I only buy DRM-free games) and having spent the last decade developing games-related software, I flat out refuse to be called a "gamer".
