   microsoft has their heads deep up their asses from the very start, but idiots keep giving them money, no matter how many times they get burned.

   microsoft didn't sell the PCs - the computer manufacturers were the ones who paid the fortunes for the "windows licenses" to put windows on the computers and passed that along to the suckers.

   Yes, that shit operates like shit, but companies and governments keep coming back no matter the fortune cost and the 3rd degree burns.

   Of course they now have enough experience to really excel in wastefulness and degeneracy.

     Are they planning on needing that much power? I'm assuming MS didn't do this out of the kindness of their hearts.

     MS is the datacenter provider for OpenAI and all of the other machine learning people. Nobody realizes how fucking huge Azure is.
