Is there such a think as *too much* organic matter? Our garden bed was just generic "soil" and has been pretty unproductive the last few years. I worked in compost, a layer of grass mulch, and bagged plant matter. Now it looks positively hairy!

Nervensäge 💐 (irisfreundin@troet.cafe)'s status on Thursday, 03-Oct-2024 02:40:47 JST Nervensäge 💐 @derek Do you mean you have bought your soil from a producer? Then you should be aware that these artificisl soils often contain too much nitrogen: making green growing but no healthy plants. And at least after the first harvest you'll have to restitute what you'll have taken out with the vegetables.
