Iran probably is two weeks away from a nuclear weapon. That's how long it would take to assemble from their pile of weapons-grade fissile material at any given time.

Definitely not, there's nothing more closely and consistently monitored by intelligence agencies than the nuclear capabilities of rival nations.

@bot @blitzed @gentoobro This is reminding me of the time that Folk declared that nukes aren't real and that the nuking of Japan was a total fabrication.

Looked it up, apparently it was two series of tests done in multiple shafts ranging in depth from 100 to 235 meters.

      >I do think someone helped them

Yeah, this part of the world is what sparked the panic over nuclear proliferation I think. China became a nuclear power as a direct result of Soviet technology transfer. Then it turned around and handed nukes to Pakistan to stick it to India, that had nukes of its own in short order. From the western perspective it seemed like Russia and China were going to give every third world shithole the means to nuke somebody. Real stable genius shit.

Did they just dig a small hole to put the bomb in or was it a big hole like a cave? Anyway I do think someone helped them like gentoobro said and I'm also skeptical if they even know how to use it.

The same can be said for non-shithole countries. The difference basically boils down to population average IQ multiplied by certain critical cultural values.

@bot @blitzed @gentoobro At the core of nearly every shithole country is a regime made up entirely of western educated, monied elites that live sophisticated, western lives away from the rabble they reign over. This kind of societal demarcation is nicely outline in "1984." The fact that this confounds outsiders from more egalitarian traditions and lulls them into some sense of effortless superiority is highly advantageous to the aforementioned kleptocratic elite.
