    The Last Dangerous Visions
    
    The Last Dangerous Visions (often abbreviated TLDV, sometimes LDV) is an original speculative fiction anthology intended to follow Dangerous Visions (1967) and Again, Dangerous Visions (1972). Like its predecessors, it was edited by American author Harlan Ellison, with introductions to be provided by him. Ellison died in 2018 with the anthology unfinished. On November 13, 2020, the Ellison estate's executor J. Michael Straczynski announced his intention to publish it. In 2022 it was purchased by Blackstone Publishers and is planned for publication in October 2024. It was published on October 1, 2024. Background The third anthology was started but, controversially, has yet to be finished. It has become something of a legend in science fiction as the genre's most famous unpublished book. It was originally announced for publication in 1973, but has not seen print fifty years later. Ellison came under criticism for his treatment of some writers who sold their stories to him, estimated to number around 120. Many of these writers have since died.   @sun I preordered it but I haven’t read it yet. I think at least the first dangerous visions is very much worth it but it is extreme.
