I paid off all my student loans two years after graduate school. Less than 15% of Americans have student loans. 20% of them have loans under $20k (less than a decent car).
Anyone making these types of posts is either lying or just really bad at math. Maybe universities should require a fucking financial planning class to graduate? The ultimate solution is to get rid of all federal subsidized student loans. Tax payers need to stop being on the line for middle class morons who get useless degrees.

Some of them cynically pretend to not get it but there are bound to be a few people who genuinely don't understand compound interest and I feel bad for them. I think it's reasonable to expect the government to do something to stop such people from getting stuck in a debt trap. Good article btw.
