   @gombang I have a Huawei phone. I'm actually impressed by how hardy it is because I've dropped it like a bazillion times. No lagging in performance either. I've been using it since 2019 so I'm actually impressed it lasted this long. My iPhone ironically lasted only 2 years lol. (my fault as i kept dropping it haha)

     @badri @gombang Honestly, the whole ban/deGoogling of Huawei gave it so much brand recognition in my part of the world. Before that I couldn't care less what brand my phone was. After the whole thing, I realised they made a whole phletora of things like your WLL phones and 5G thingamajics in Malaysia lol

     @liztai Huawei! I know that company because it was the one providing equipment for WLL phones in India. Been using it for connectivity gadgets here and there ever since ☎️
     
     (That stands for "Wireless Local Loop", and it was basically like landlines, but using an antenna and towers for the last mile broadcast, designed for sparsely populated rural areas where it would be too expensive to lay cables all the way. Our first one look like the attached picture that I found online but is in the process of disappearing)

     @badri @gombang In my part of the world, due to what's happening there, "US good" doesn't even exist anymore. China is more like "kinda suss" lol

     @liztai nice! Yeah I can see how it'd catch on in places that don't blindly think "US good, China bad" or something along those lines. And from what hardware I've used, they certainly know their job 🔧
     
     The Indian government right now is going through a very "China bad" phase, so I think I'll be seeing less Huawei products around, but who knows, that stuff is mostly for show anyway 🫠
