Why do l sometimes get a "that post doesn't exist" message, when l reply, to a reply, that exists on my notifications screen? Has the OP deleted it, but the reply still shows up?

@ScienceCommunicator yep, they've deleted it and it hasn't updated on your end. It happens.
Imagine if habituated liars had a 'delete' what they just said option? Easier, for them, then denying what they said & \ or twisting the words of what was said.
Yea, sh-t happens. Personally, l'd "delete" #Mastodons delete option. But, that's just me (my generally honest personality)
Of course, with a little more thought, there could be a timed edit option (to correct mistakes. And the edits could be made transparent)
But, transparency, honesty, works against some folks agendas
@ScienceCommunicator edits do note the changes but yeah... misinformation is quite rampant here.
@ScienceCommunicator when you click on the post, it shows "this post has been edited" and if you click it, the edits are shown
Where do "edits" note the edits? But, what notes the deletes? It has to be said, the delete option is a loop hole that charlatans exploit.
@ScienceCommunicator I did edit a post above already. 👆
OK. Can you please "edit" your previous reply, e.g., add the word "orange" at the end, then l can click the post, etc.
? It's not clear to me. Have l edited this post? And if so, what was the edit? Where is the unedited version displayed?

🤨I'm so confused right now.
My reply that I replied above about edits says:
"Edit: This is an edit"
I literally linked it to you...🤨
What was the edit added to the post that began with the sentence "? It's not clear to me......"?
@ScienceCommunicator let me screenshot so it's clearer.
Click the arrow that's circled on the first pic.
Then click either thing that pops up. The last 2 screenshots show what the edits are.
To clarify. I want to be able to compare \ see \ read \ know about, any edits that someone made to a post (just knowing it was "edited" is a useless feature__without being able to see what the edits were)
So, l edited my post that begins with the sentence "? It's not clear to me....?"
And asked if you knew what that edit was?
It's not a "trick" question. On Fedilabs, l can't see any option to see what edits were made to a post.
It seems that you're using a desktop version of mastodon software. I will check that out later. In the android Fedilabs App, as far as l can tell, l can only click to see that, for example, the post was edited in time \ date. Perhaps there is an option to see what changes were made. But, somewhat ironically, if #Fedilabs has that option, it's not explicit.
@ScienceCommunicator this is how icecubes looks on iOS.
