@teratology@ciel@vriska@scathach yeah there was some paper a few years ago where they couldn't find any evidence SSRIs should have ever been used. there's no evidence of any seretonin deficiency that calls for overloading it with drugs.
they distinctly mentioned they haven't read if people are helped by them, just that the justification for their mass spread was a fraud
@ciel@vriska@scathach basically SSRIs are a scam and there was never evidence that they actually worked which if you notice, and from my own exp ppl psychs will tend to prescribe multiple at a time bc it's literally a placebo
@icedquinn has posted more extensively on the subject and I think has referenced literature about it. I think this was confirmed during the pandemy unless I'm wrong here.
