@OldManToast@thisisaaronland the joke is that as we stand in 2024, I am one of the few people on the planet who look at an inanimate object and say, "That thing should be on the Fediverse." So when I get a chance to do it, *and that thing is actually on the Fediverse*, it is wonderful.
@OldManToast@thisisaaronland unfortunately I haven't gotten good at finding the IDs. I think @onview posts them regularly, but otherwise I don't know how to find them. Others have shown some to me, though.
@evan@OldManToast there is a whole body of work from the before times about and around the idea of “social objects” / sadly those efforts mostly sputtered out for reasons best saved for tears-in-beers hour / but in the meantime it remains a conversation worth revisiting
@evan@thisisaaronland I think I remember seeing something about this before, I'll have to read up on it. On a much smaller scale, I do think the fediverse needs something that helps collectors organize, display and share their collections of choice. Looking forward to reading the blog article to learn more about the goals and implementation
