I get a lot of gruff for trying to defend Direct Air Capture of carbon dioxide from people that are aware of global warming, but do not understand what actually causes it and how desperately necessary it is to address it.
There are tons of academic treatises on what the risk of keeping global temperatures elevated for too long as well as on Direct Air Capture technologies that are sustainable, but as part of the fossil fuel industries efforts to demonize all climate action it's being demonized.

Thankfully, Democrats are willing to make investments for our future like helping to start a Direct Air Capture of Carbon Dioxide industry despite the efforts of the fossil fuel industry's useful idiots and otherwise deluded people that don't seem to care about trying to provide a stable climate for future generations.

The USA has added over 400 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into our thin, precious atmosphere. To me that indicates that every one of the 350,000,000 Americans should take it as their personal responsibility to permanently remove 1,150 tonnes of carbon dioxide as fast as they possibly can while at the same time stopping to emit greenhouse gas pollution as fast as they possibly can as well.

I just think, from what I've read so far, that this is a final greenwashing attempt by #BigOil and related industries. Too much wishful thinking, similar to planting many trees just about anywhere, which is actually detrimental and not beneficial for combatting #ClimateChange.

Actually, the perceived cyniscism was the @thejuicemedia's, based on facts, and all I'm saying is that I haven't seen large-scale projects that are effective and commercially viable.
Also, carbon capture always fears of the general public and gives them "an escape clause" to continue burning FF. Moreover, investments that do work (solar, wind) receive less funds, as those dollars 💸 cannot be invested twice.
It still seems to me somewhat like that magic nuclear fusion,...

...that's been "just around the corner"--for more than 40 years.
I'd be glad if s.o. did figure out a way ASAP, so we might still miss +2-3°C.
But then, I might not have read the right papers...
