     heres some more (i hope solid) working just to see if i can do it using pure trig and algebra. pls be kind since i havent done this type of math for 10ish years

     @lunarised I think there's a way to use the law of sines but its a little more involved. The hint I'll give is that whatever method you use, you need to use the fact that the two bottom lengths are equal in some way
