@xianc78 it's a shame that's basically the only really interesting thing about the new tetris, aesthetic is pretty good but the actual game is unbelievably mid
@anna@xianc78 TE:C is the best guideline game but the guideline is.... absolute garbage, to put it mildly. For a skill testing single player Tetris game, Arika rotation is just objectively better in every single respect.
@anna@xianc78 nestris is broken but in a different way, I want to do a das maxout on it eventually but I can't say it's anywhere near my preferred version
@allison@xianc78 i watch a lot of the classic tetris matches so i like that i can play a very faithful recreation of classic nes tetris without fucking with getting an nes to work or plugging up some emulator to the tv
@allison@xianc78 im not good enough at it to really need to bust out TGM or anything like that. between TEC and 99 it covers pretty much everything i enjoy. but yeah most of the fun of nes tetris is that its kiiiind of one of the worst ones, but in a way it makes a fascinating competitive game
@anna@xianc78 it's actually relatively well balanced for a game released that early on, definitely a more natural counterstop than gb tetris and let's not even get into true horrors like the original bps famicom version
@allison@xianc78 its a shame that the game boy one couldn't figure out how to do a regulation size board, the tourney scene for that shit would be insane instead of some niche thing if it was the correct height
@anna@xianc78 would it? it's just a tap game, there are a billion of those out there for better or worse. (the only gb games I'm aware of to have a regulation sized board are pandoras blocks and maybe magical tetris challenge?)
