Well yeah, that's the point of an alarm clock - Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell:, NeonPurpleStar :heart_bi: and :blobcathug: like this.

@solidsanek Would be real nice if they could happen in the past though. Hollow Cанëк likes this. -

@solidsanek Also holy shit 1.2MB for a clock.
Imagine loading a nearly full floppy disk for just a clock application. -

@lanodan 1.2MB for the UPDATE
That clock has multiple features, than just being an alarm clock but none of them justify this size -

@solidsanek urgh. That's the size of a browser in ~2010. -

@navi @solidsanek Even worst case scenario of uncompressed images, it would be something like a 5963×3354 image when stitched together like a sprite sheet.
And pretty sure Android can do vector images so you can scale icons nicely. -

@solidsanek @lanodan the only justification i could try to make would be assets, maybe it's shipping bitmap icons or smth
but even then that's too much for a clock -

@navi @solidsanek Maybe a more "reasonable" one is the alarm audio files in flac :D (Instead of synthetizing it on the fly, which is much cheaper even in terms of CPU usage) -

@navi @solidsanek Well there's decades of ringtones and kids toys with music synthetized on the fly.
And I think most musicians are familiar with MIDI and software-synths these days. -

@lanodan @solidsanek oh, audio files, yeah (why did i not think of that)
synthesizing on the fly would be cheaper, but probably a lot harder for the audio designers to work with i think -

@lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me @navi@social.vlhl.dev @solidsanek@outerheaven.club I think you could argue that decoding compressed audio files is synthesizing audio on the fly, just that the instruction format is different and it's a virtual machine instead of native instructions
