     I just chugged 2 liters of sugar-free Pepsi so I'll be good caffeine-wise and awake-wise for quite a while. Plus I got up from ~2-3 of ~2-3 hour naps less than ~2-3 hours ago.
     
     Edit: I got that USB flash drive thingy yesterday but was too busy watching the girls. Plus that HD thingy that made me think my PC was broke seemingly solved itself with a few reboots, and I solved that Minecraft login problem too.

     I've tried the caffeine pill route before and it just makes me sick to my stomach. Normally I don't drink soda (but I do drink a lot of energy drinks) but it was a special occasion of my brother's birthday yesterday. I mostly take caffeine in the form of coffee with milk.

     I can't drink coffee. The tannins, or something else in coffee, gives me a heavy migraine. It makes me want to paint the ceiling. I'll stick with purity.... straight caffeine.

     Man. I'm tempted to just wipe my drive and start all over just for kicks. But then I'd have to spend hours and hours re-downloading and re-logging into everywhere. I wanted to wait til I got my disabilitybux lump sum before doing any such "computer heavy lifting" though. And I have no idea what distro I'd be using... maybe AntiX? But I dunno if such an obscure distro not based on the likes of Arch or Debian would have installs available for most my stuff.

     Yeah I can do that. I still have a few folders left after the dozen or so minutes it'll take to backup my /Downloads/ directory. And yes, I at least remember when they were called directories instead of folders!
     
     
     Edit: This looks to be turning into a 45-minute operation. I wish I had something faster than USBs.

     Here's my command I use to back up my system to an external drive, assuming my disk automatically mounts to /media/tyler/Workstation Back

     rsync -av /home /mnt /var /etc /bin /boot /lib* /opt /root /sbin /snap /srv /swap.img /usr /media/tyler/Workstation\ Back/

     Although I really shouldn't be copying swap.img

     It'll probably be at least an hour to backup my pics and memes and such onto my external drive in case something goes wrong; I have a plain ol' HD with like USB 2 I think so it sucks but it gets the job done.

     You should be keeping a backup anyway.
     
     Do you know how to use rsync? It does differential copies, so only the changed files get moved on a new backuup.
     
     $ rsync -av source dest

     I'm guessing it'll be a bit more complex than:
     
     a) "burn" Linux boot ISO to flash drive
     b) reboot with flash drive plugged in
     b1) if it doesn't boot fuck around in BIOS until it does
     c) backup all my saved pics and stuff
     d) open gparted or whatever
     e) delete swap drive
     f) do... something here to combine stuff

     The nice thing about rsync is that in subsequent runs, it only copies what's changed.
     
     I use it multiple times a day to back up my office files. Because it only copies what's changed, a back up takes maybe 30 seconds tops.

     For me, rsync hits about 120mb/s over my network for large files. I don't use rsync over usb as often, so I can't recall performance on my cpus.

     I was maxing out at 100mb/s until I got my new router, which has 2.5gb/s nics. The gain wasn't that great though. I assume the bottleneck is really ssh. I assume the encryption / decryption slows the transfer rate way down.
