djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 19-Sep-2024 13:52:20 JST djsumdog I archive a lot of shit. I've been archiving YouToob videos for the past few years. Nearly 20% of my archived collection is no longer available on YouTube:

I wrote a tool if you want to check your collection too:

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 19-Sep-2024 13:56:26 JST djsumdog I don't think so? If you know the channel name I can check, but I don't recall those ... that is a bizarre thing to cull. Maybe they were on an unofficial channel and the original owners wanted people to go to theirs instead? In conversation permalink -

Would you happen to have collected any of those NASA videos of the sun's heart beat?
By the time I realized that youtube was culling science videos it was already long gone.In conversation permalink -

Not sure. A few years back, NASA put a lot of money into monitoring the sun. And, there was amazing videos everywhere. Some showed a literal ripple happening inside of the sun spots.
I've probably spent 100hrs looking for them when I realized they were gone. But, have not found them.In conversation permalink -

The censorship and control of information is already happening. And, not just on political matters, but science as well.In conversation permalink ✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: likes this. -

I'd also remind everyone that Google is starting to prune unused accounts starting December. So imagine internet culture from the 2000s, that doesn't violate any ToS, but just gets erased because the account hasn't been used in two years.

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 19-Sep-2024 22:27:55 JST djsumdog It's a very quick project. It doesn't even have tests in it. I made it as an example for the blog post, but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue maintaining it. In conversation permalink -

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 19-Sep-2024 23:50:04 JST djsumdog It's in the article. 1143 total.
I've downloaded them to a standard place for a while ( /media/storage/streaming/{youtube,rumble,odysee,bitchute}/<channel_name>/video) but before that they were scattered around a bit. I think I've scanned all of them, but I do need to organize my storage.
If I've missed any, it's not much, probably <100.

smug@smuganimeavatar.xyz's status on Thursday, 19-Sep-2024 23:50:28 JST smug Oh, reading is hard. 1143. I got 600 video ids that youtube told me ahead of time because having a good website is hard. Think deleted videos in a playlist that are hidden.
