A bit that surprised me: if you actually want to dump waste outside the Earth, well, merits of that dubious idea aside, it’s far more efficient to get it into interstellar space than to get it to the sun. Huh!
@inthehands well, previous generations sent the Voyagers into interstellar space running on fumes and a poor excuse for a calculator as compute, but it took until the 2020s to get the Parker close to the sun... obviously there's other factors in there but it's a data point
