It's pretty goddamned irresponsible of The Guardian to refer to a so-called "apparent assassination attempt." The man never even fired a shot. He was just one more white man walking around menacingly while brandishing a military weapon in public. In the Republican Party's America, that's a routine, everyday occurrence.

I doubt it'd meet the threshold for attempted murder, and I think conspiracy charges require more than one person be involved.
I feel like I'm forgetting something obvious. Surely he's committed a greater crime here.
