   I've got good news for those who want to use our new author bylines feature. It won't be necessary to e-mail us to request your website to be manually approved any longer. If you navigate to Edit Profile → Verification on the web, you'll find a new section called Author Attribution where you can control which websites can credit you in link previews.

     @Gargron I’m assuming it’s only available for mastodon.social accounts right now. Will that option be included in 4.3 or a minor update to 4.2?

     @Gargron so, I tried adding this metadata to my website when I first heard about it, and it didn't work, but I didn't realize that I needed approval. I just added my blog to that list and saved my profile and I still don't see it. How do I debug this?

     @glyph One thing to note is that if a link preview has already been generated before it will not update until 2 weeks have passed and the link gets posted again. Have you added the meta tag and saved the permitted domains in your settings before posting the link?

     @Gargron no, I posted the link about 10 minutes before I saw this. It's a bit inscrutable to have caching periods that long and no visibility into them. Please consider adding some kind of inspectable metadata somewhere, "preview last generated on" or somesuch, so that site authors can do something more than reloading a lot and hoping

     @Gargron hi, I added my website to the list (and clicked on Save button) but if I visit my profile and click on toots where I've linked something from my blog I don't see anything 🤔
