   Conference organiser: you can't come to our event because we're fully booked, but there is a live stream to follow.
   On screen, camera shots of the room show at least 40% empty seats throughout the day.
   I wonder if they reckoned with no shows at all.

     @ton To be fair thats what airlines do... would you really want to go there and be denied entry because everyone showed?

     @ton Very true, but predicting what level of no shows you will get accurately is very hard. So you can never be sure your overbooking will make it in.
