   if you're wondering why they didnt pummel the 2025 button its because studies show everyone tunes out when confronted with that as a potential reality - its too bleak a possibile future that everyone assumes it cant happen and will instead cling to any logic of unreality including "this person is lying to me".

     @sinvega one of the lead workers in their campaign has gone on the record saying all their focus groups showed it actively hurt their ability to get people to vote for them or listen to them. its absurd but its where we're at.

     Its the same issue with getting people to confront climate change or the pandemic. If its too scary, people have learnt to push it away.

     @siege It's better to raise it as a flag for the worst and most committed people, then take it down so the rest can quietly pretend they never knew about it while intentionally voting for and supporting it at every step
