     @vriska tbh I'm not much of an anime person but I have some familiarity with touhou setting/characters/lore/etc because of my game interests, and characters like cirno (the blue ice fairy that's getting constantly reposted bc it's 9/9 today) have long since passed into memetic popularity on the internet far beyond their original audiences

     Yeah, Touhou got so popular on 4chan that they actually had to ban discussion of it on /a/ and split off an entire new board (/jp/) for it.
