     Although seems to come from Chinese as far as writing is concerned (should have expected that given the kanji).

     @lanodan As far as I can say every kanjis has at least 3 way to be pronounced (japanese/chinese + when standing alone they often have a totally new prononciation) + a shitload of exceptions.

     This is so weird to learn, it's like an intentional brainfuck sometimes ^^' (and like you should try to learn to say "1-9 thing/day/person" : THEY ALL HAVE FUN EXCEPTION NESTED IN IT JUST FOR FUN

     @otyugh Which is exactly why I don't really bother learning written japanese, I got enough bullshit with french and english, so I just keep to spoken japanese.
     
     (And could consider actively learning Japanese Sign Language, but that's it's own language)

     @lanodan I honestly dabble in it partly as a way to ward off my anguish about having an early onset alzheimer ~ (I never had a strong memory, and part of my family having it made me panic, so "ohh an easy way to know what I forget in a gradual and libre software, not a bad fit" - so I ended up practicing anki daily) >_<
