thats long been an issue in second life where everyone has like 100k polygon monstrocities with full textured everything. because extremistan marketing is a bitch, and you can choose to make a high performance asset and lose sales or make it the prettiest and crush everyone's GPUs :neocat_woozy:

@susie the textures are what they are because its cel shading. they actually use a slightly tricky shader i've seen people go through recreating it in blender

@icedquinn And funnily the textures rarely are what makes something pretty or not. Most often it is the animations and "physics". Any half-decent textures will do. Like in Genshin the models and textures are actually pretty darn bad, but the animations make the characters seem cute.
