     Island countries seem to have an equal number of uphills and downhills.

     @lss I drew this diagram to demonstrate.
     
     As you can see, GNU/Island has an equal number of uphills and downhills, while the proprietary country has a downhill starting beyond the border with country yellow and a flat border with country red, meaning that the proprietary country has one more downhill than uphill.
