@augustocc @mastodonmigration What latest numbers are you seeing?
@mastodonmigration you are welcome, and all of us want to welcome this new wave of users!
This is a traffic heatmap (the lighter the hue, the higher the traffic) measured on 29 brazilian federated instances.
Notice that traffic ramped up since the end of last week (the order to close X was publicized around 6PM local time, on the 30th), and since then we're having, in some periods, double or even more traffic, compared with the same weekday on previous weeks.
@augustocc Would you be willing to do a session at this next week’s Fediforum on your view of this migration? @fediforum
@augustocc @fediforum Of course: I'm not running the Fediforum but am a participant, and wanting to encourage good discussions like this at that venue!
@tchambers I am honored but can’t respond today, I’ll get back to you tomorrow, ok?
@tchambers @augustocc @fediforum one interesting thing to discuss could the resistance of Brazilian journalists and activists to join the fediverse, even now the X blew up for them. Here's just one example
@augustocc @fediforum Thats cool - sounds like no times within the 12th to 14th here work? https://fediforum.org/
I'm deeply honored and even humbled to be considered for this session, but I won't be able to participate on the event's schedule. Maybe on the next one I can talk about the challenges to Mastodon popularization in Brazil?
Thank you!
