As a post-op bariatric surgery patient, I have never gotten so-called "dumping syndrome". Maybe it's because I am lucky, maybe it is because I hate to eat anyway, maybe it's because I mostly follow the rules.
But I will tell you that NOTHING happens if I eat a targeted piece of bread very occasionally. On the other hand, chicken often makes me barf, and 3 bites of this meatball thing just sent me free-wheeling to the bathroom.
I've dropped over 100 pounds in the last 6 months, and for that I am grateful and relieved. But anyone who thinks this shit is easy is genetically blessed, chain-smokes like a fiend, or is an uninformed asshole. Probably all 3.
It was worth it for me, though I will tell you the only reason I think I will keep the weight off now is that I hate eating sooo much that I am struggling with nutritional goals.
That is not really fun. Often it is physically painful. I hate myself much less now, which is wonderful but we all have to eat.
I drink a LOT of protein shakes, friends.
